About This Spot

Nestled on the lively corner of Michoacán and Amsterdam in the Hipódromo neighborhood, Elotes y Esquites Los Juniors invites you into a laid-back, authentic street-food experience deeply anchored in local tradition. The pace here is unhurried, shaped by the steady rhythm of passersby en route to Parque México and the familiar murmur of neighbors gathering for a casual, flavor-filled pause in their day.

What strikes you first is the simple, honest warmth that radiates from this corner spot. There’s a kind of communal pulse—conversations rise and fall over the scent of roasting corn, while the weathered wooden cart feels like a beacon of genuine, everyday joy. This is a place where waiting in line is less about impatience and more about anticipation, a shared moment of discovery with those around you.

The experience here is anchored in a love for corn in its most celebrated, comforting forms. Whether carried in hand or carried home, the elotes and esquites feel like little celebrations of Mexico City’s rich street food culture—creamy, tangy, and unmistakably spirited. It’s not just about the taste but the textures, the layers of chili, cheese, and lime that mingle together and invite a slow, appreciative savoring. The portions are generous, embodying a kind of abundance that feels genuine rather than showy.

Locals and visitors alike find in Los Juniors a place that deftly balances familiarity with a playful edge—offering those willing to embark beyond the classics a chance to explore bolder varieties laden with crunchy chips, unexpected crunches, and rich sauces. The cart’s magnetic charm lies not only in its flavors but also in the humble sense that this is a shared corner of the city where simple ingredients become a moment of collective delight.

If you find yourself wandering through Hipódromo, let the unpretentious pull of Elotes y Esquites Los Juniors offer a brief, flavorful pause—a chance to connect to a thread of local life through something as elemental, and as soulful, as corn.

A decent (and might be the only reliable) place for elotes/esquites. However my favorite here is the esquiteloco if you want to indulge in a true and fun Mexican experience! It’s essentially esquites in a bag of chips with cheese, sauce, Japanese peanuts and so on (just say “con todo”).

This place changed my life. I dream of this corn. I would eat it everyday if I could. Thank you so much for your work.

The biggest elotes in Mexico City and next to Parque México. Do not hesitate to come here, you won’t regret the elotes here. They are the best!

One of best elotes I've had. The corn is massive, it's different. Seasoning was perfect.

A good place to try elotes and esquites - corn topped with chili, salt, butter, cotija cheese, lime juice, and mayonnaise. While the taste was a bit exquisite for gringos, the locals appreciated it as the stall was very popular and the line was long. They also had doriesquite and tostiesquite options as well, but we didn't dare to try them.

I appreciate that this is a reliable elote food stand on the map. The line was long but the wait was quick. My friend got the smaller cup, and I got the larger one. The large was way too much food! I think we spent around 110. The elote was good, but the super rich flavor made me only want a little.

The best esquite around. Their macha sauce casera will test your limits I mean in a good way.
